Here is a list of
what first-graders will be studying at school:
Language Arts focus:
reviewing and refining phonemic skills as well as
increasing reading fluency, mastering sight words,
grammar, punctuation and capitalization-learning to
write multiple sentences about a topic.
Science: learning about the process
skills that scientists use to find out and discover:
observing, comparing, classifying, and sequencing.
Social Studies: we are learning about
school workers and their jobs, also about procedures
and guidelines and the reasons for them.
Health: our body systems, senses, etc.
(eyes, ears, their parts and functions)
Math: numeration, properties of zero,
reviewing counting skills.
